Nowadays, passengers arriving in Pittsburgh enter through a drab Amshack-like waiting room. Right next door is the luxury apartment/office building known as the Pennsylvanian which used to be the PRR station.
The building is closed to the public, but my Mother In-Law works there. I snapped this picture of the waiting room last summer.

Nice pic, far too much of this in this country! (ie Seattle-Union Station/KCY-Union Station/San Antonio-Sunset Station/Omaha-Union Station/FTW-T&P etc. :(

Its great that folks are trying to save the grand old stations (ie Buffalo/Cinncinatti etc.), the stimulus money needs to go towards utilizing them as train stations and not office buildings/condos etc.)Amtrak could rent better space in these gems if they wanted to ie KCY/LAX etc.

If you ask the building security guard nicely, he may allow you to step inside the lobby and snap a photo the next time you are in the 'Burgh.
