I AM TAKING THE #5 ON SEPTEMBER 29 AND WAS WONDERING IF I WILL BE DETOURED THROUGH WYOMING OR NOT. DOES LEAVING ON A WEEKEND HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DETOUR IS IT RANDOM DAYS WHEN IT HAPPENS.

The dates are not random, any train hitting either Denver or Salt Lake on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday will take the detour.

However, in your case it won't matter what day of the week it is, since the construction project should be over long before the your trip and no one will be detouring.
