Yeah, I kinda figured that. I was just wondering if anyone knew what bridge, or how significant the damage was/is? Did they re-route the train? Will it be running in a few weeks (my guess is yes) when I go to WAS. It got through but I don't know if it had to get sent around some detour. I've always found this group to be a wealth of information. My guess is a bridge caught fire....
Thanks. I just remember the phone call from Amtrak in 2011 when CSX wiped out the bridge near IND. That took several weeks, and we were the second PO51 to cross after the repairs. Initially, for the 2011 trip Amtrak said it was a no go, and we were going to have to find alternative transportation. However you guys were great in announcing the work was complete, I called our station and got changed all back around. I trust you guys for the most up to date info. :hi:Bridge fires rarely affect service for more than a few days.
#50 did indeed go out. It was listed as "disruption" almost immediately (if not sooner). As I said earlier it showed up on "Track a Train" as having passed Dyer and I might have seen it past Lafayette. Linda T quoted a news article saying that it was turned in IND. But I'm still curious, did it go back from IND on Sunday as the Hoosier State, sleeper included?Amtrak did not have the equipment to send out #50 on Saturday night for an overnight run to NYP.
