I could have sworn I read somewhere that the H Bedrooms (for someone who IS mobility-impaired handicapped) are charged at the current rate for a Roomette. But now I can't seem to find that information anywhere!

Am I right or did I imagine it? Links to relevant pages on Amtrak.com, or even discussion here, would be most helpful.

Thank you

I know in the past when roomettes were over sold, I was put in both the handicapped and the family bedrooms. I loved them both because you have windows on both sides.

I'm being told by Amtrak customer service that H rooms are in their own bucket. That didn't sound accurate to me, and I know sometimes customer service agents give different answers at different times. So I'm hoping to find either proof, or a convincing argument so I can hopefully make my case.

That is correct if you are booking as a non-handicap person within the 2 week window before departure. ( it will be priced as a Bedroom as was said.)
If you are eligible due to a handicap it will be priced as a Roomette at the current bucket but you still get the 15% Rail Fare discount.

Just to follow up, I was unable to get Amtrak to agree with me, and the rest of you. According to them, H rooms are in a separate category by themselves and the pricing isn't linked to anything else.
