Shows free to park at Wickford Junction here: https://mbta.com/stops/Wickford%20Junction
I would also keep in mind that Wickford Junction is 1.5 hours via mbta vs 1 hour on Amtrak to Kingston.
Seems like this alert is a little premature and lacking specifics in timeframe. The 3rd Noreaster in 2 weeks isn't scheduled to impact the Boston area until midnight tonight. Seeing lots of on-time trains currently operating between NYP-BOS.
I would guess this alert is intended for the morning...
Interested to see how this effects the Club Cafe seats which are quite different than the Amfleet I Coach and Business class seats. They have leg rests in addition to the footrests and the 2-1 layout.
Ah, thats a tough spot. If you were delayed and willing to walk to the North Temple Bridge station (0.8 mile) and the first green line train to the airport is at 6:06am.
If you're delayed TRAX (light rail) starts around 5:45am on weekdays and 6:30am on weekends, I'd give that a try, the Blue line is right outside the Amshack (Salt Lake Central) North to Arena, and switch to the Green Line which will take you to the Airport and its only $2.50...
The Downeaster is promoting viewing the partial eclipse in the Ocean View Dome Car on train 683. https://www.facebook.com/AmtrakDowneaster/posts/10155572398647145. Lots of tickets still available.
Downeaster 683 (weekdays) leaves BON at 1:05 pm and 693 (weekends) leaves BON at 12:10pm. This should be plenty of time to connect from BBY.
It looks like the 11:35am time you got is from the 681 arrival time in Portland.
We used Zipcar across the pedestrian bridge on the other side of the station. The price is a bit higher but it includes gas and the convenience to get in and go, no waiting in line and no paperwork, it is worth it to me.
Happy to have a thru roomette for our Boston-Chicago trip at the end of December. Now if only we could get the Portland-style catered box lunches like they have on the Empire Builder. Though I suppose with the departure time if we're not happy with the minimal menu...
