Men sue Amtrak for not posting warning signs

What kind of car were they climbing? If it was a non-powered coach, do they expect amtrak to put "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" signs on every single car in the fleet, regardless of whether or not they ever run under catenary? Idiocy. Everybody knows you're not supposed to go near wires.

    About Amtrak's GG1s.

The ICE in germany used to have two power cars, back when it was the ICE-1. Then the ICE-2 came along which only had one power car and cab control car, which was a mistake because the train is limited to a lower speed when it's in push mode, over concerns that it could derail if the wind is...

    Fark photoshop contest

This isnt really amtrak related persay, but there are some amtrak-based images here. For any readers of fark.com, they're having a photoshop contest right now with the theme being "photoshop a fark-related railcar". Of course there are the standard inside jokes and cliches, but have a look...

    New Equipment

Most certainly Bombardier. They built the superliner IIs, even though the first generation was built by pullman-standard (I think).

    Amtrak in the Movies

Head of State? The trailer had Bernie Mac's character getting off an acela regional in the lava lamp scheme. I dont know how much of that was in the film; i didnt see it. Another movie with abundant trains is Clifford. Terrible movie, but Charles Grodin's character gets on a superliner in...

Man struck by an Amtrak Train

Too much of this stuff happens. People really need to learn why its so dangerous to trespass on railroad tracks.

    Amtrak Superliners.

Umm...when did we skip phase 5 and jump to phase 6?

    Amtrak Viewliner Sleeper Cars.

Nope. The prototype never made it to revenue service. There were a few interior design problems they encountered when testing it out.

    Amtrak Pennsylvanian.

The MBTA horizons have manual doors, too.

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

I just got my #204 today, as well. I didn't expect it to arrive until next week, so I was presently suprised. No higher-level issues, but I haven't had a chance to power it up yet. Sure looks nice.

    Amtrak's Holiday Wish List

The necessary upgrades to the northeast corridor, where needed, to bring the acela up to its full potential.

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

Ugh, that looks horrible. I was hoping it would be as accurate to the prototype as possible. Is it that noticeable just running on its own with some passenger cars? I've ordered the low-stripes from internettrains (still waiting for it to ship... <_< )

    Texas Freight Bullies

Amtrak is at the mercy of the freight railroads, unfortunetely. Everywhere except the Northeast corridor, if I'm not mistaken. Freight trans have priority, since they own the tracks. I wish it were different.

    Amtrak Heritage Passager Cars.

The Amfleet IIs also have larger windows, which is a welcome change for the passenger trying to get a good view!

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

Well I just heard back from internettrains, and they are getting them in next week! At long last. :D

    Acela Express

Especially when you consider how much they tout the 150mph in their marketing, even though it's only a tiny fraction of the whole ride. "As you zip along at 150 miles per hour" ...Yeah, for a few minutes.

    Acela Express

Yeah the Acela only hits its top speed on the straightaway between Route 128 and Providence, I believe.

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

I ordered this item back in May, so I really hope that they will ship soon. I preordered on internettrains, and I just sent them an email asking if they're receiving them soon. It would be nice if I could get it by Christmas, although that looks pretty doubtful.
