Amtrak Prepares for Busy Thanksgiving Travel Week

My understanding is that they will continue to use the Cart on the Hiawatha's. Grand Rapids has gone to Superliners for the week and the LSA will work out of the Snack Coach due to the inability to get the cart up stairs.

The below statement is incorrect. the CN nee IC nee ICG nee GM&O is double track from 21st street to Joliet (reference current CN Chicago division employee timetable). I roughly parallels the BNSF nee ATSF from Bridgport to Joliet with portions, especially near Joliet being directly next to...

    Miami Here they come......

considering how the equipment turns are set up here in the midwest, the removal of 10-12 coaches which is the equivilant of 3 to 4 "sets" of coaches would infuence a great number of trains.. it wouldn't be just 300/305 305 goes to STL then turns to 311 the next day to Kansas City which turns...

    "School Boy Special" for 2005

Oh, yes I agree, and in this case I don't think they could have created a regular assignment and bid it for just 4 weeks... We did do that for the last 6 months of the Janesville Javelin, though.. I held that job for all but the last week.
