    Timekeeping on 19/20

Riding on 19 right now just off of Lake. A little late leaving Atlanta and some delays in west Georgia but started making it up until had to sit about 45 minutes in north of Livingstone, Alabama. That said, this baby has been flying since and will only be 30 something late instead of the hour...

    Crescent Issues today??

Late last night I noticed an empty train on the siding at Atlanta's Amtrak depot facing north. The train was still there today. Ergo, it appears that 20 is beginning in Atlanta today. I noticed that 20 ran yesterday but was 2+ hours late arriving into Atlanta. Anybody know is there was an...

Old passenger equipment on Crescent route near Atlanta

I noticed these cars a few months ago when trainspotting. They are right behind the Post Lindbergh apartments. I live very close to them (the NS line goes behind where I live). I will try to grab some pictures. I am pretty sure the cars have some kind of structure built around the...

Delay of the Crescent and regional to Lynchburg from Washington

I think you meant #19 didn't you? #20 is the northbound Crescent and usually arrives in Lynchburg right before dawn. #19 left Lynchburg at 1:59 am and is not scheduled to arrive in ATL at 11:04am.

    BOS-NOL Newbies

There isn't anything within walking distance in Atlanta in terms of quick food. The Station itself is bareboned as it was never designed to be the major Atlanta station. It was sort of an uptown station that became the only station when the downtown Terminal station was razed in the 70's...

    Crescent Truncation Operations question

I see now, the cars that appear to be baggage cars were actually Display cars. I just looked up the train. Regardless, it may not have been scheduled to stop for an exhibition BUT it was MOST CERTAINLY stationary on the siding next to the station around 9am on Tuesday. Perhaps it stopped to...

    Crescent Truncation Operations question

I have seen the Crescent sitting on the south track at midday/early afternoon at the ATL station a few times over the past few weeks (already turned around to face north). I always thought they would drag it into a yard for the day in case NS needed both tracks at ATL but apparently not...

    First Trip On The Crescent

Thank you for sharing your wisdom on this matter, Alan B. As a novice, I have much to learn. I remember seeing this configuration in the past during the winter months so now it all makes sense (and will give me something to one-up Dad next time we are talking trains).

    First Trip On The Crescent

The Crescent has been terminating/beginning in Atlanta the past few weeks while NS is working on track in Alabama (I believe). As a result, it is parked next to Peachtree Station for most of the day. I live nearby and have seen the Crescent parked (or rolling down the track in my backyard)...
