So I'm taking the IL Zephyr from CUS to Macomb in a couple of weeks. Since the new Met Lounge opened I've only been in it for morning departures so this will be my first visit for a late afternoon/early evening departure. Are they serving any adult beverages at all in there during the 4-5:30 time frame? I've read on here before that they have wine tastings but that it seems to happen in the midday time, prior to boarding the early afternoon departures of some long distance trains.
Personally I prefer starting my journeys off sitting at a station bar having a beer or two, but I do want to be on the Met Lounge for the business class boarding (I know it's sold out on this train so don't want to board late, like to get my single seat). Wasn't a problem in the old lounge, even though the space wasn't as nice you could at least go out and buy a beer and take it in with you. The new rule about outside food/drinks is so stupid.
And I still think a cash bar would be a perfect addition to all lounges system-wide.
But I digress. So, has anyone seen of they are doing any wine tasting in the late afternoons?
