Amazing Attendants on CZ 4-12-11/4-13-11

Staying in a DB for the first time (rather than in a roomette), I was thrilled to see both the much larger living space, as well as the immediate attentiveness of out steward Nathan (name tag said Lamar, introduces himself as Nathan). He always had little snack bowls filled with assorted candies, a pleasant surprise. In the dining car, we LOVED Jane. Although impatient at times, she always made sure we got exactly what we wanted, plus she was kind and funny as well. Kudos to these wonderful people who helped to open my grandmother's eyes to rail travel. (It was her first time EVER taking any sort of train since the 50's)

Hey Johnny, yes, that was a great trip. Nathan's candy bowls (yumm-candied orange slices) were an extra touch. He did a good job of taking care of us. We realized when we got home that all our attendants for that April trip [CZ to Chi, EB to Seattle, Starlate to Sac, CZ back to Colorado] had been particularly attentive.

The news here the other night indicated that we now have DHS personnel checking over the people boarding at Denver. Apparently based on worries about Al Quaida plans supposed to have been found in Pakistan after the raid there. Sure am glad we got this CS trip BEFORE things went crazy and we had to take off our shoes to board. {grins}
