The bus from Springfield to Galesburg is a drag but is short enough to be tolerable.

Closing the circle brings you back to Pomona in about 10h travel entirely in California via a 1 zone Capitols, Surfliner, bus, Texas Eagle trip. Oh well, you can't have everything.

Dont forget the KCY-LAX-PDX-CBS loophole from previous post! You could hop the River runner to KCY, grab a coach from CBS-CHI and ride a regional down to STL or even the TE if you wanted to spend a night in CHI!

For sure will put this on my list since the TE is my "home" train!
