My friend used her credit card to make a reservation back in October. Now she want to cancel it. From the time she made the reservation to now, the card has been hacked and she was sent a replacement.

When she cancels her reservation, will her original card be credited? It no longer exists, but I'm wondering if the card issuer, who is also the company that replaced the original card, will accept the credit and transfer it to her new card.

I believe Amtrak has a policy of crediting the original card.

When this happened to me once the credit was sent to the old number but the credit card company move the credit to the new number. Tell your friend to contact her card issuer to find out if this will happen.

Either have her call the credit card company or call 800-USA-RAIL to take care of the cancellation, and explain the situation and see if they can make the refund to the replacement card.
