This, sadly, is a typical Amtrak practice, advertise something as an upgrade with promises of things that aren't delivered! "Inconsistency!", Amtrak's New Motto!

You didn't indicate how much the Biz Class charge was over the Rail Fare, but considering that the Coaches are full, having two seats to yourself on a LD Train and comp beverages sounds like a better deal IF the upcharge is reasonable.

As for the WIFI and lack of the e-Newspapers, that's par for the course for Amtrak currently!

Call Customer Relations with your concerns, this can be easily fixed IF the Suits that are responsible want it to be!

Hey they got 25% more AGR TQP too! Something that even the Sleeper passengers on the train did not get.

Perhaps it is time to add business class sleeping cars. Clearly there is a market for those wanting to get those extra TQPs. :giggle:

My lower on the Canadian last year was wonderfully comfortable. Not so much the seating, but that didn't matter: spent most of the day in the dome.
