Chicago Lounge "G"

In Chicago Union Station, there used to be a room, which everytime i went by it, had the metal bars pulled down, and the lights off.

I think it was around the corner from the Metropolitan lounge.

It was called Amtrak Passenger Lounge G, or something similar to that. The lettering, i think has been removed.

What was this place, I always wondered?

It is next to Passenger Services and across from the Fountain and the Ticket Office. It is used for Special Events.

You mean like if President Bush were to use it as a Presidential waiting room like the Washington DC US used to?

As I recall, isn't this the lounge where there supposedly is free wi-fi access, but is almost never open?
