At the moment, the snowpack in the Colorado River Basin is approximately 75 per cent of the yearly average. This suggests a not very good year for rafting along the Colorado. When I rode the Z both ways in mid-March, the mountains were largely bereft of snow and the river was depressingly low. Folks in Glenwood Springs were glum about the rafting prospects for this summer.
