We will board the City of New Orleans around 8 p.m. in Chicago. Will they still be serving dinner on board for those passengers heading south to New Orleans?

I was on it two weeks ago, and we had to wait 30 minutes for an engine to show up**.

Once they boarded us, the LSA made an announcement that they were prepping the diner and would be ready for dinner in about 10-15 minutes. She then made a second announcement that dinner was first-come, first-served. The diner never got full, and they did the same for lunch the next day.

**Despite leaving Chicago 45 minutes late, we arrived in NOL almost an hour early.

We took the CONO in May. We left on time. Our SCA said nothing about dinner, so we walked to the dining car. Staff was sitting around, so we returned to our roomette. The

announcement for dinner wasn't made until 45 minutes south of Chicago. We also had a limited menu to pick from. The wait staff told us what was available. If my memory is correct

it was a pasta dish, chicken, or anything on the kids menu.

Didn't someone make a set of charts detailing which meals are served on which trains? Why isn't that a sticky? Can someone dig it up again?

are you referring to this?
