Which one of the new candidates for President in '04 supports Amtrak as a national passenger system? Which one is closely aligned with Gunn's position?
I emailed early front-runner Howard Dean's organization just to find out his stance - Deafening Silence.
While his and other's position papers go on and on and on about Health Care, Economy, etc - all very important topics - I would like to know about transportation polices. And I'm not confident that either party really gives a flipping patooie about it - afterall we saw Amtrak fall into more disrepair during the Clinton years.
So what are those words? And who will do more than words - who will believe in these issues? Who actually understands long distance rail and high speed rail? Who isnt already well-lubricated by the airlines and highway construction companies?
