During April 26, 27 & 28, CP rail will be replacing the Bridges over the Black & Mississippi Rivers at La Crosse, WI. The Empire builder will not be wyed at La Crosse, and as such, will follow the ex-CBQ route between Chicago & St. Paul, MN.

The EB wyes at LaCrosse? How is that possible? The term wyes refers to a change in the head end, which, unless I'm sorely mistaken doesn't happen with the Builder.

Perhaps there was some misunderstanding. The closest place where it could wye in this type of situation would be past the two bridges in question here, and that is impossible. No, the EB isn't supposed to wye at La Crosse - I was just heading off some comments and questions about why it is going to be completely on BNSF rails from CHI - MSP, and why it won't be able to go via it's normal route. It will have to travel the entire distance on BNSF rails, going via Savannah IL.
