Empire Builder question re restrooms

Are the bathrooms on the same level as coach seating?

Although I have not traveled on the Empire Builder in coach, I believe the restrooms in all Superliners are on the lower level. Most coach seats are on the upper level, but some are on the lower level. I believe you need to reserve a lower level seat in order to get a lower level seat, unless there are unusual circumstances.

That is correct. On the EB (and all Superliner trains), all restrooms are on the lower level of the car. There are some seats on the lower level (which are mainly for those that may have trouble climbing stairs), but 80-90% of seating in coach is on the upper level.

Sleeping cars on Superliners have 1 restroom on the upper level, but all others are on the lower level also.

Restrooms are on the lower level on all Superliner coaches. If you need to be able to access the restroom without navigating the stairs, reserve a Lower Level coach seat.
