Fatal grade crossing accident MBTA Haverhill Line

A Boston-bound MBTA commuter train struck a car at a rail crossing in North Andover today, two elderly passengers inside the car were killed.

Full story is here. The site of this accident in North Andover is north of the Wildcat Branch, which means that if MBTA trains are experiencing minor delays, then so are Amtrak's Downeaster trains.

That's really sad. The MBTA is usually very good about avoiding accidents and alot of money has gone in to protecting grade crossings.
