Greetings All,

I've been part of this forum for the last year and have learned much from the discussion links.

But, more importantly, I've appreciated the responses to my posts and answers to my questions. Along the past twelve months I've learned that AlanB's dad was a collegue of mine, ALC_railwriter always has something beneficial to add, the "the_traveler" brings lots of humor, Bill Haithcoat is a great hirtorian, and rrdude is just rrdude.

Thanks so much for be willing to share in my Amtrak journeys with me. It is indeed a blessing.

Atlanta trip on hold pending an extended family outing in Williamsburg early November. My gift certificate is being applied against my AutoTrain tickets for late January 11.

ALC,

Geez - don't go using big words with me - I had to look up "vacuous."

Unfortunatley, in my position as an intentional interim ministry specialist (impressive term) I go from church to church facing difficulty and try to help right the ship. What this means is that I rarely get my full complement of vacation. We do take a yearly AutoTrain or Silver Service trip to Florida but so many routes I would like to visit just don't fit into my schedule. I was trying to set up a turnaround trip to Atlanta which was looking good, until the latest crisis hit.

So what I appreciate about this board is that I get to live vicariously through the thoughts, reflections and travelogues of others. Many of my comments on other routes are based on my experiences years back, but keeping up to date on what is going on allows me to be part of the Amtrak community with the anticipation that, someday, 3 or more long distance trips will be an annual event.

Blessings!!

Dave
