I'm a freelance writer, hiker, and a guide. Anyone from India here?
Did you take Kalka-Shimla train to visit Shimla? It is a UNESCO World Heritage listed under ''Mountain Railways of India” category.Hi,
I live in the UK but have visited India several times, including Himachal Pradesh...
I very much enjoy travel by train in India.
I tried to join Indiamike forum once, but the site was down. You might care to join Indiamike.com, which is a travel website devoted to India?
Most trains have started running. Even the most crowded ones. The Shimla-Kalka train is running too.How are things now with covid and train services there in India?
It has been changed dramatically. There is a four lane road (it is still being constructing at some places) connecting Chandigarh to Kullu and Manali. Earlier the government was even planning to construct railway line on this route (Chandigarh-Manali-Ladakh), but the plan has been abandoned for now.I did take the trip to Shimla, first time in 1983. We went on by bus to Kulu and Manali. Very few cars on the road in those days, I gather it is very changed now.
I have contributed to a few sites and forums.Anyway, welcome to the site, do let me know your blog website?
Thank you, Caravanman.Beautiful photos Pawan !
I hope to get back to India one day if the covid monster dies down.
Cheers!
Hi Pawan,Thank you, Caravanman.
We all are waiting to die it down.
I would love to know your travel experiences -- of visiting Himachal Pradesh.
