Illini (392) accident in Savoy Il - April 24

Looks like the Illini hit a piece of farm fertilizer equipment exiting a field last night ner Champaign, killing the driver of the equipment and badly damaging the engine. Sounds like only minor injuries on the train.

392 didn't get into Chicago until 3:45 this morning.

It has been a rough few months for Illnois trains and fatalities.

824 was the engine on the train. I saw it in the shop this morning when I was coming in on my train this morning. There was a CN engine there as well so I assume that's what towed the train back.

824's nose is smashed in, and there are a couple dents along the engineer's side, but it didn't look too bad. Definitely very fixable.
