I need to go from Chicago to Croton Harmon (or NY Penn) in late November. I'm looking at the bucket prices for a roomette and noticed that the NY sleepers were at a higher bucket price than the Boston sleepers. Would it be possible for me to book a roomette on 448 to Albany and then continue to Croton Harmon or NY Penn in coach of 48... and get the lower bucket price of the Boston sleeping car? I dont see any way to do it online.

You certainly can do that - its time for you to learn about "Multi-City" reservations ;)

You certainly can do that!

Just click on the "multi-city" tab on the website. Enter "from" CHI and "to" ALB in the 1st spot, then in the 2nd spot enter "from" ALB and "to" either NYP or CRT (be sure to enter the next day). This way, you can request a sleeper on #448 and coach on #48.
