Some of you forum "die-hards" may remember a while back when their was talk about that Amtrak was going to convert a car or two of midwest business class service to a more plush 2and1 seating arangement to experiment with. Has these cars ever been converted and are they in service?

Yes. To my knowledge, the entire Horizon food-service fleet is slated to be converted.

In any event, at least three cars have been converted:

58000 (former 53000)

58007 (former 53007)

58108 (former 53508)

There are probably a couple of others.

In addition, many Amfleet I cafe cars are receiving the same (club-dinette) treatment. Those are numbered in the 481XX series.
