We are on lake shore limited. We are just leaving now out of Chicago. Hour late. Was waiting for a train from Texas. Now the question is which train is it because the one that was suppose to come into Bloomington was cancelled. Hmmm. Hope we make up time to NYC.

Most likely the Texas Eagle from TX and CA. (It's the only train from TX to CHI.) It was "cancelled" because it was running over 8 hours late and they didn't want people waiting that long when there were other choices available between STL and CHI.

But then how did it get here with people if it was cancelled?
It wasn't actually cancelled. Instead, they still ran it but said it was cancelled in the reservations system (so that people couldn't purchase new tickets, and they would accommodate people traveling between STL - CHI.) The train still made the trip all the way to Chicago.

But then how did it get here with people if it was cancelled?
The people already on the train stayed on it. They simply didn't want people boarding between STL and CHI, as there were other trains available to get them into CHI on-time.

Ok. I was wondering how that all worked. I know we would have had to wait maybe three or four hours to get to the next train.
