Most of the "privately owned locomotives here belong to corporations(aka railroads)and non-profit rail groups!Guess England

might not be broke afterall if someone can afford to own a steamer!!!(myself Id love a whole train but will settle for any old

pullman or personalized :) workcar or dome/sleeper,lounge car etc.! :) Thanks for the pics!(and I kid about England,

we lead the universe in debt and deficets!!!!!!)

Most steam locos passed for mainline running are owned by groups or societies set up to buy, restore and operate the particular loco.

One or two are a part of the National Collection, some are based at loco restoration depots like Carnforth or Tyseley.

That said, I do have a very wealthy friend who actually owns a whole real life ex Southern Railway Pacific!

Check out Ozark Mountain Rail Car. Non-Amtrak certified cars aren't very expensive at all.
