order of cars

hi everyone - is there any way to find out where in the train a certain car will be located - example - empire builder west bound - car #2730 which is a sleeper car- just would like to know if near the dining car, viewing car or near the end of the train - thanks

I just rode in the 2730 last month - you'll have to walk forward through the 2 Portland coaches to get the the Lounge, then through the Lounge and 2 Seattle coaches to get to the diner. it's a hike!

There are a number of videos on YouTube showing the walk from the Portland Sleeper (2730/2830) up to the Diner if you want to "see" the hike.

2730/2830 is ALWAYS the last car on the EB! You have to go thru at least 5 cars to get to the diner and at least 2 cars to get to the Lounge. (The exception is if they add 807/808 between CHI and MSP. This coach is placed behind 2730/2830.)
