Reduced sleeper price on Train 91

[C&O RR]

Starting July 1st the diner will be remove from Train 91.

The price for a bedroom on July 19 from RVR to TPA for two people is

Train 91 - $656

Train 97 - $1,042

but on most dates the price difference for two people between the two trains is around $97 for a roomette and $187 for a bedroom.

So, what are my chances of Amtrak reducing the points needed to ride Train 91 :giggle:

According to AGR Insider on FlyerTalk:

No changes to sleeping car redemption requirements are planned in response to the Silver Star "un-bundled" fare offer. If the member wishes to instead redeem on another route with dining car service, the member may modify the reservation by contacting the Amtrak Guest Rewards Service Center.

I think no chance.

After all, if you go from ELP to TPA on the TE-CL-SS, or from DEN to MIA on the CZ-CL-SS, both cost 20,000 points for a roomette and 2/3 of your trains have a Dining Car!
