4/28 schedule changes, continued...

Keystone, Cascades, San Joaquin, Pacific Surfliner, Hiawatha Corridors

No significant changes found.

Capitol Corridor

Some minor time adjustments. A twelfth round trip will be added on weekdays. The new trains will be 526 (departing Oakland for Sacramento at 9:15 AM) and 533 (which will depart Sacramento for Oakland at 10:40 AM).

Connecticut Valley Service

Good news for those who ride the shuttles between New Haven and Springfield! On both weekdays and weekends more trains have been added. Currently on weekdays there are 5 trains southbound and 6 trains northbound. On the new schedule there will be 8 trains in each direction. The weekend trains go from 5 trains on Saturdays, 6 on Sundays in both directions, to 7 trains on both days in both directions.

A morning shuttle 470 on weekdays, and 460 on weekends has been added. Weekday Train 476 replaces service currently provided by Inland Route train 142, which is being eliminated. Former Sunday-only 488 will now run both Saturday and Sunday. A weekday counterpart 486 has also been added.

Southbound service is all changed too, partly because of the much later operating time of the VERMONTER. New southbound departures have been added in the morning 495 and 493 weekdays and 491 weekends, but old 471 on weekdays will be gone. 477 will also vanish, but a new later 479 will now run on weekdays in its place. The former Sunday-only 479 is replaced by a Saturday & Sunday 497. In the 2:00 PM hour, there's new 437 on weekdays, and 435 on weekends. Ans also on weekends, old 463 is replaced by the rescheduled 147, the weekend-only Boston-Washington Inland Route train.

Inland Route

As was mentioned above, weekday northbound Train 142, train that ran via the Inland Route to Boston, will be eliminated. This answers the elimination of southbound 145 which took place last October. Now the only service on weekdays between Springfield and Boston is the LAKE SHORE LIMITED. On weekends, both Inland Route trains still exist, 140 northbound and 147 southbound. 147 will now run roughly three hours earlier than before.
