Starlight January schedule

There is a temporary January schedule for the Starlight on the Amtrak website. What track work is causing this?

Two different UP track/tie gangs. One in California, one in Oregon.

Improved tracks can't happen soon enough. Several of us on CS 11 commented how well we slept in the Northern California stretch, but the tracks south of Oakland are pretty rough.

We were scheduled to take the Pacific Surfliner to SLO on 1/15, but the 777 only goes as far as Goleta that day (and Oxnard the next), with less desirable connecting bus service.

We are now booked on the CS from LAUS. As our usual trip is on the Surfliner, this might be one of the few times we could experience the PPC by booking a roomette.

The CS leaves LAUS at 12:15 and arrive in SLO at 5:30. Will there be any meal service during that time? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. -- Suzanne
