As a somewhat light sleeper, would there be an advantage in booking lower-level Superliner coach seats? With seating for only 12, it would seem to be a quieter, calmer spot. However, would there be noise concerns from people descending the stairs to use the bathrooms on the lower level? I've never been on a Superliner car before so appreciate any insights. I do plan to have ear plugs for the overnight, for what it's worth.

This would be for the Capitol Limited, so I'm not missing out on a ton of scenery like on a west coast route.

From what I have read here, even if you select "Lower Level," unless you are handicapped, you may be seated anywhere by the onboard staff. The best locations to sit upstairs are away from the center of the car (there's a light there that stays on all night) and away from the end doors (which are noisy and drafty).

edit: in addition to ear plugs, I suggest an eye mask.
