Having never been on Amtraks Acela trains, I figured I'll give it a try from NYC to Boston.

Where does the Acela reach its maximum speed on this route?

Is the first class car in the front or back of the train from NYC to Boston?

Thanks!

Just south of Kinston, thru KIN and to Cranston and again just north of PVD is where it goes 150 MPH!

And depending how the train was facing, First Class may be either on the front or rear of the train.

I think it's 36 or so miles of track where AE goes 150MPH. As the_traveler stated the FC car can be on the northern end or the southern end. Announcements are made usually on the FC location.

TimSpencer Here is a photo of the GPS information of an Acela in RI, going 150 MPH. Notice the straight track at that location.
