Will the EB also be late westbound

I'm looking at taking the EB to FAR, and the info available from the last few days shows it getting in late, sometimes a couple hours, sometimes quite a bit more. The reason I'm asking is that I would actually PREFER if this train gets in a few hours late, because I don't want to arrive there at 3:30am. The event I must make is at 2pm, so if it gets in at 5-6-7----11am, that would be fine by me.

This potential travel is March 28-29.

Is there a good chance it will also be a couple hours late then? (I know it's ridiculously late eastbound)

Also if I get a room and if the train is late enough, do I also get breakfast?

excellent chance of being late. check out the site amtrakdelays.com. if breakfast time comes and you are still on the train you can go eat.

7 ontime is 20 percent last 12 months. 8 is 6 percent. Late is "on time"

I'll practically guarantee you a good night sleep and breakfast!. Hardly ever lunch for Fargo. Good site for checking status is:

There are some good sides to this winters delays - I get to see cities like Fargo, Grand Forks, Libby, Sand Point and Spokane in the daylight!!

When I resumed train travel, I wish I'd known more of this stuff. I had a long series of surprises, few of them good.

Look at taking the Empire Builder as an adventure-Just like Lewis and Clark, only without the Bison.......

Despite the assurances here, the train arrived ONLY 30 minutes late, so no full night's sleep and no breakfast!

Guess it's always a gamble with amtrak!
