Does anyone know a site with photos and "nuts & bolts" info on the Genesis power source?

    Texas Freight Bullies

I may be showing my ignorance here but it seems that the "stop & wait" on freight trains is dramatically less in other states. OTP is merely an excursion in futility until the freight lines are curtailed.

    Boyce takes a train

This was to be my first time on Amtrak and my wife & I were scheduled to depart San Antonio at 6:00 A.M., Nov. 23, 2003. I was firmly convinced that a more civilized departure time would actually occur so that I would avoid getting up in the middle - of - the - night. After monitoring the Sunset...

    estimated departure

I am scheduled to board the Sunset Limited at 6:AM on Nov. 23. As of 10:00 AM today Amtrak is estimating the departure time from San Antonio to be 7:34AM. Should I still be at the station for the scheduled departure of 6:00? Can the train make up that lost time. If it does make up that time...

    The ho-bo question.

Does anyone have any stories? I can remember that as a child in the 1940s growing up near a freight train route I would sit by the tracks and watch them go by.I would see people sitting in the cars with the door open and their legs dangeling.

    Space availibility

I am booked on coach already and I checked Amtrak's site to possibly upgrade. It gave me a price but does this mean that space is still available?

    Lower Level?

I walk with the aid of a cane and did not know what "lower level" meant when I booked on coach so I didnt request it. Will Amtrak penalize me and make me climb stairs or is the lower level reserved for passengers like myself?

    New schedule confusion.

I had thought the changes to the Sunset Limied's schedule went into effect Oct. 27 but checking Amtrak's webpage the schedules from San Antonio are the same until Nov.1.

    Sunset Limited schedule change.

Later this month, Amtrak hopes to gain 2 hours but at what price? Will they eleminate some stops or is this mainly on paper? It appears that the WB train is closer to the scheduled times than the EB train...at least in Fla.
