As much as I love trains I haven't really paid attention to anything Amtrak over the past couple months. Can someone just give me a quick recap of anything important that's happened (additional trains, new equipment, new stations, canceled routes, etc)?

I caught the Texas Eagle southbound from Joliet to St Louis on the 19th. The train was about 40 minutes late in arriving due to a problem with one of the coach cars in Chicago, which caused it depart late. I didn't mind the wait, as I got to meet a few nice people hanging around at the station...

Is anyone aware of or able to find information regarding overnight parking at Joliet Union Station (JOL)? I have been able to find very little information of help.

What exactly does it mean for a train to be "Limited?"

The Pennsylvanian is listed as having an OTP of 100% in the month of December. Is that just for endpoints or for all stations on the route?

If I get off the Texas Eagle at 9:00 AM, will I have be able to eat breakfast? How early is it served?

My dad has talked about trips he took by train from Washington DC to visit relatives in Storm Lake, Iowa in the late 1950s. He does not remember what train he took, as he was in elementary school at the time. Does anyone know what train might have run from Chicago to Storm Lake?
