    We leave from Portland Ore.on Empire Builder to Chicago.I notice different train number when we reach Spokane do we have to change trains???Our first train trip and I know we do change trains in Chicago to CZ to go to San Francisco.

    CZ Roomette - question

    I think the problem may be that Amtrak is refering to a Bedroom and you were booking a roomette.The bottem bunk in the bedroom I beleive is a little larger than the top bunk.

    booking early doesn't always get you the lowest fare.Ichecked every day until the price came up for our trip next April.The segment from Chi.-San Francisco on the CZ cost us 1195.for the bedroom only.I received the tickets via fed ex the next day.I am hesitent to book when the price goes down...
