Yes as was, said, but it's,a very limited Heat and Eat Menu, No Chef on the City!Hello,
Does Amtrak Seat Dinner After The 8:05pm Departure of train 59?
Do they call the CONO the Chicken Bone Express? When I rode, I think there was 1 seating (or a very short time) for dinner service.
They don’t call the CONO the Chicken Bone Express for no reason!
One account I read explained the right of way was literally littered with chicken bones pax threw out the vestibule door windowsThat's an oldtime nickname for the CONO dating back to Illinois Central days. Since many passengers would bring their own meals on board the train, and since its run is largely in the south, fried chicken was a favorite meal.
And if you do miss dinner, call Amtrak and try for a couple $20 vouchers or something like it.Remember if the CONO is not on time, it is possible you will miss dinner, so keep up on the progress of the train in case you need to go to Plan B.
They do show departure estimates at the 'Train Status' page (even at the start of the route). How do you “keep up with the progress of the train” when it starts in CHI and you board in CHI?
