Amtrak should eliminate Vancouver, WA, since it is only about 10 miles from Portland, and Amtrak already serves Vancouver, BC.Amtrak should have extra trains between Seattle and Portland for Thanksgiving. They would use either Cascade equipment or other commuter-type equipment that is capable of operating in the Pacific Northwest. They would depart Seattle (King Street Station) and the stations are Tukwila, Tacoma, Olympia, Centralia, Kelso, Vancouver and Portland. One of these trains should depart Seattle around midnight and run NON-STOP to Portland the next morning. The other trains would make all local stops. This should meet the demand for Amtrak travel over the busy Thanksgiving weekend.
