Info on Adirondack

I'm catching this train from Montreal to NYC in mid-Sept. I have read people get in line up to an hour early just to get on the train. Is this necessary?

When my group departed Montreal on a Monday, we arrived about a half hour beforehand and were near the front of the line for a sold out train. Though the line did get long very quickly.

It is only necessary if you want to choose your seat.

As said, you only have to be there extra early and in line if you want a "good" seat. If you don't care, there is no need to be extra early.
