They have a new route map called "Route Atlas." Kinda interesting. Check it out at http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServe...72922209&ssid=4
I don't think it's an issue of Windows vs. Linux, but rather Flash 7 vs. Flash 8. The current version of Flash for Linux is 7.0.63.0, while the site states that it requires Flash 8. I'm guessing that Amtrak's web developers used Flash 8 to develop the route map, so they probably expect that it won't run on anything less than version 8. Unfortunately, all us Linux users can do is wait until Macromedia gets around to porting version 8.cbender said:Has anyone gotten it to work under linux? I do have flash properly installed (according to the flash website), and other flash sites work fine. I think Amtrak must be scanning for a windows based operating system. I really dislike web-designers who try to be smarter than their users.
It works fine for me on Apple's Macintosh OS X 10.4.6. I know Denmarks also uses a mac and he was able to access it, so the system is at least not Windows-only.cbender said:Has anyone gotten it to work under linux? OK, well that is at least better than blocking non-windows computers (which some sites do). The flash 7/8 issue is becoming more common, but the error message I got didn't state that the problem was with my flash version. It works fine for me on Apple's Macintosh OS X 10.4.6.
