Planning a trip to NY state around Oct 1. Which trains would provide the best chance of fall foliage viewing?

The Adirondack has the dome car "Ocean View" added between Albany and Montreal during September and early October! Based on past years, it operates out of ALB northbound on Thursday, Saturday and Tuesday, and out of MTR southbound on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. This is a very scenic portion, where you can view both the New York State side and the Vermont side of Lake Champlain!

(You follow the shoreline for many miles.)

Dave, much as I hate to admit it :giggle: , is sure right about the Adirondack! If you have the time and can afford it Id suggest riding all the way to Montreal, spend at least one night(more is better), Montreal is a really cool International City!
