Super Dome to Washington

The Friends of the 261 are doing a tour from St. Paul to Washington DC with several of their private cars. Given the Empire Builder's poor OTP, there is a two-night layover at the Palmer House in Chicago.

I've always enjoyed my rides with the 261 group, but am too busy in April to even think of this. Their last excursion (to Whitefish last summer) sold out.

I'd love to take that trip, but I'm not in the Midwest and it costs more than $-0-! Unless I can redeem AGR points for the fare! (I'm not used to spending money. :giggle: )

If money was of no concern, I'd have reserved a room in a heartbeat! But all I can do is dream and hope that one day some of these care are still legal for the rails and someone (Amtrak or otherwise) is around to haul them when I can afford the trip.

I was all over this...until I saw the price! Out of my budget for now, but can't wait to see more from them (including hopefully a few within my budget!)
