SWC and trackwork western Kansas

Taking the Southwest Chief later this summer, and have noticed the 1 hr delay between Lamar CO and Garden City KS has decreased to generally 20-30 min between these points. Has anyone noticed any improvement in the quality of the ride or if trackwork in this area is still occurring?

I thought the ride on 4 last week was noticeably better through that area.
