Union Station CHI Question

1st time to CHI Union Station . We will be walking from the Washington/Wells Orange Line station.

Which entrance do we use to get to the Amtrak Ticket counter .

We will have two suitcases the reason for the Washington/Wells Station elevator.

Assuming you don't want to use stairs (given that you're using Washington/Wells for the elevator), the best bet is to head west on Madison Street to Canal, then south on Canal to the entrance between Adams and Jackson. That entrance has an escalator and an elevator that lead directly to the Amtrak ticket counter area.

Thanks for the info Yes the wife will be with me and the stairs at the Quincy station will not work for her and a suitcase.

The weather looks nice for Chicago tomorrow so the walk should not be bad.

Trogdor steered you right but a word to the wise, the elevators are a little tricky to find it you are not familiar with CUS.

First of all the entrance you will be looking for is on the east side of Canal St. (the side towards the river) It is in the modern looking building not the one that looks like a majestic (old) station. As you enter the station there will be two banks of automatic doors that lead you right to the escalators. If you want an elevator when you go through the second set of door make an immediate left turn and you should be able to see the elevator.

If you mean the elevators at the cta station, know that they are not always in order. The escalators don't always work either. Just a heads up.
