This morning, I was waiting on the track 2&4 platform at New Haven for Train 162 to BOS. I was quite surprised to hear a horn, then look up and see a New Jersey Transit trainset pull up on track two.

I could not see the loco, as I was at the other end of the platform. It was a seven car consist of their (NJT) double deck cars.

As my train headed north, on track four, the NJT train was still at the platform.

Any thoughts?

Mike

P.S. to Jishnu-hope you're OK with my play on your topic's title:)

I think I know the answer to my previous post. I found a thread over at RR.net about Metro North crews training on NJT equipment for an upcoming New Haven-Meadowlands service for Giants football.

As my post is not Amtrak-related, please feel free to move it. Sorry!

Mike

We've had a few topic on NJT trains running out on Metro North territory here too. And that wasn't a test/training train, they are doing actual game day service at this point.
