The original post said that they are using Amfleets. Anyone care to take a guess at if they will use a cab car or a second P42 so they don't have to turn the train? That is going to be a very tight schedule if they are going to use one trainset to cover the service like the 799/798 surfliners...
I'm almost certain I've said this on here before, but I think there were drawings, if not a prototype shell for a Viewliner lounge that had an all glass ceiling. I look forward to seeing Amtrak's next 5 year plan to see what they plan on doing about the heritage replacements.

Now that there's enough rebuilt Superliners to equip one train with upgraded equipment, what LD train do you think should get the Builder Treatment next? At first I thought that it should be the Starlight to maintain the train's status as Amtrak's premiere train. Also the Starlight's equipment...
Hello everyone! I'm finally getting around to posting the results of my trip on the Starlight from a week ago. As with previous experiences on Amtrak, my rule of train crews held true. (The crew on the first trip is always better than the crew on the return trip.) On the way up to Portland, we...

I wish I could have a trip report up for you to see before your trip, but I leave on the starlight two days before you arrive. The hotel I'm looking at has wireless internet, so I'm hoping that I can post mid-trip reports and images.

Okay guys, I just bought my tickets for a trip to Portland, OR next month. I'm already pretty excited about it. This will be my second trip on the Starlight out of Los Angeles. I look forward to telling you all about it when I get back.

Thanks for the responses guys. The motive behind my question was to find out for a friend doing a model railroad project. We were wondering if the trains ever ran with equipment painted in the Acela schemes.

It looks like the folks at Beech Grove have been busy. I saw sleeping car #32052 on the Southwest Chief on Friday night and it had the new blue and white interior. According to On Track On Line the 32055 has also been released recently, bringing the total of remanufactured cars to 4. In the...
