I'll definitely bring the appropriate extension cord with a couple of additional outlets. Also, my cell has a USB cable for charging. Just 3 more days until the trip!

Hi all. I'll be taking my annual DC trip leaving Denver this Friday. Are the outlets in the Superliner Roomette 2 or 3 pronged?? I'm asking because I'm bringing my new laptop for the ride and would like to occasionally watch movies, browse the web, write a trip report as it happens, etc...

The lack of radio/TV is probably one of Amtrak's larger flaws as it'd be nice for us sports fans to catch up on the action instead of just a cell phone with spotty coverage.

If your hotel is across the street from the Denver Union Station, it sounds like you stayed at The Oxford Hotel, a very classy and great hotel!

I'm also taking the Zephyr eastbound in October (get on in Denver) and immediately boarding the Capitol Limited to DC. I sure hope the waters of Iowa will subside enough by then.

My only real pet peeve with Amtrak is the lack of Coca-Cola products. For coke lovers, it's very tough to go without. However, on my trip, I bought a 12 pack and had plenty with the ice in the sleeper car.
