I think this is a great map, and is particularly good for those of us who are unfamiliar with US geography, as it gives a quick visual indication of all the train options for each destination and route. SLH

I should mention that several months ago I was told not to photograph the train I was on, while it was waiting at a station, so I guess we should feel safe in the knowlege that no one knows what an Amtrak train looks like...! Sheer Luck.

Having read the posting about the Amtrak Report Card, it is suggested that sleepers might be cut from L.D. trains? As someone who runs his own small business, I would find it impossible to predict what the effect of removing sleeper cars from long distance trains would be. I can't see how...

Thank you for the trip report, you come across as someone with a good sense of humour. Like you, I get irritated by the things that could be fixed, but are not. My pet gripe is dirty windows, given that many folk take the train for the scenery! SLH

The Amtrak version of "where are we" is replayed every morning when the passenger awakes, looks at the timetable, watch, scenery outside, and realises they don't match! SLH
