So, I took the CS south from Tacoma to Portland and return tonight.... Southbound- It was about 15 mins late into Tacoma, as the headlight on the lead unit (150) died on the way, and the supervisor at Amtrak had them doing restricted speed over every grade crossing. BNSF showed up at Tacoma...

You rode from Portland, OR to Spokane, WA back in October 2008...took a picture of the coach (31042) and the seats 9 and 10.... And then today, take the train from Portland, OR to Pasco, WA, and you are in the SAME coach, SAME seat, SAME train, SAME crew! SPOOKY! haha

So, was just curious what people thought of certain equipment...Feel free to reply back on this and explain why or just to chat away....

Amtrak has cancelled service between Seattle and Portland due to mudslides and flooding. In effect till at least Saturday morning. Just needs to be over by Monday! I am on the CS from LA!

So, it would seem jointed rail on a mainline would just about be unheard of today, but after about 50% of my circle the country tour, it is apparent it's not....so, where is mainline jointed rail that you know of, used by Amtrak , of course... 1) BNSF near the MT/ND border, about 100 miles...

Ok, so I have a reservation for next September on the Texas Eagle, and it says Car 2232 Room 20. Any ideas? I don't think I have heard of a "20" before.
